The Clinical Research Nurse will play a pivotal role in managing protocol subjects involved in cancer clinical trials. This position is integral to the Cancer Clinical Trials Nursing Team, focusing on the coordination and execution of research protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the screening, consenting, enrollment, treatment, and follow-up of subjects participating in cancer trials.
- Ensure that all treatment phases are conducted on schedule, maintaining communication with treating physicians and subjects.
- Advise the Principal Investigator (PI) on study requirements and represent the department at various meetings.
- Facilitate effective communication among research staff, clinical professionals, and study sponsors.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of quality assurance plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Serve as the liaison for the PI, research subjects, and compliance with human testing regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation and analyze data to draw informed conclusions.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients for eligibility prior to enrollment in studies.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding study protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate data entry and resolve queries.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Level I: Registered Nurse with 3 years of general nursing or research experience.
- Level II: Registered Nurse with 3 years of research experience and proficiency in study management.
- Level III: Registered Nurse with 5 years of clinical research experience and relevant certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience in oncology nursing.
- Clinical research experience.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification.
Compensation:
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
