Position Overview
In the role of PVC Pipe Production Specialist at National Pipe and Plastics, you will oversee a production line dedicated to creating PVC pipes tailored for various applications, including water, sewer, and commercial uses. We prioritize the safety of our workforce and ensure that equipment is properly maintained, cleanliness is upheld, and that all safety concerns are promptly addressed. You will have the chance to participate in our Safety and Culture committees, which emphasize our principle of 'People Before Pipe.' We believe in fostering employee engagement to enhance our work environment and drive continuous improvement. Comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the skills needed to operate and maintain material feeders, extruders, and downstream machinery. Collaborating with your line team, you will be accountable for the quality and efficiency of your production line. We take pride in the high standards of our products and are seeking dedicated individuals to join our successful team. A sign-on bonus of $1000 is available, with $500 awarded after three months of employment and the remaining $500 after six months.
Key Responsibilities
- Review daily production schedules and count-sheets for any specific instructions or modifications.
- Document machine speeds, regrind silo levels, and other relevant information on provided logs.
- Ensure color barrels and hoppers are adequately filled.
- Make necessary adjustments to extruders and related equipment as required.
- Continuously monitor extruder back pressure, amperage, screw, and feeder speeds to maintain operational limits.
- Regularly check extruder heat zones and vacuum levels at the vent.
- Assess product appearance and implement adjustments as needed.
- Assist machine tenders in troubleshooting unusual issues and ensuring product quality.
- Perform additional duties related to the role as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis.

Education and Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with supervisors and colleagues.
- A minimum of two years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, construction, or a related field.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- The hourly pay rate ranges from $21 to $27.
