Job Summary:

BCforward is seeking a highly motivated Formulation Lab Technician - Personal Care for an opportunity in Greenburgh, NY 10591. The successful candidate will be responsible for the formulation of all types of Hair, Skin & Sun Care products, including gels, creams, lotions, serums, beach products, sticks, sprays, and balms.

Responsibilities:
  • Formulate Hair, Skin & Sun Care products, including gels, creams, lotions, serums, beach products, sticks, sprays, and balms.
  • Understand emulsion, polymers, and surfactant technology, and general cosmetic technology as well as formulation techniques.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures, including pH meter, Brookfield Viscometer, stand mixers, and Silverson homogenizers.
  • Perform and track prototype stability and compatibility.
  • Maintain, organize, and order lab supplies/raw materials as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical engineering, or related field with 0-1 years of formulation experience.
  • Or be currently enrolled in a matriculated program geared towards a four-year science degree.
  • Be able to follow a set formula and procedure provided by senior chemists to create finished formulations.
  • Must have good problem-solving, decision-making, and organization skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain a laboratory notebook, as a professional legal document.
  • Be able to lift 50 lbs, and work at bench for 8 hours per day.
