The Construction Project Manager is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of various renovation, remodel, and tenant finish projects across our property portfolio. This role requires a strong understanding of construction, project management, and effective communication with stakeholders to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards of quality, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement project plans, budgets, and schedules in collaboration with ownership, company management, onsite property management, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Manage and lead on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and laborers to maintain a safe, efficient, and secure work environment.
- Procure necessary permits and licenses, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Communicate project updates and address concerns/questions with all stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and project closeout documents.
- Actively manage projects by inspecting work to ensure quality and schedule are being met, documenting issues and concerns, and communicating with stakeholders to resolve them promptly.
- Manage all financial aspects of projects, working closely with accounting staff to ensure projects stay on budget.
- Report any anticipated changes to the budget to management.
- Complete thorough punch lists for all trades to be completed on the scheduled date.
- Walk completed work with stakeholders to ensure the project meets their expectations.
- Evaluate project performance and conduct post-project reviews/surveys to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit with drafting experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing budgets and financial aspects of projects.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in construction.
