Job Overview

This role is a critical part of our development, testing, and deployment processes for complex solutions. We're seeking an experienced Data Engineering Leader to drive all aspects of technical and data architecture, design, prototyping, and implementation in support of product needs and overall technology strategy.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop comprehensive data strategies for broad or complex requirements, incorporating forward-thinking approaches that extend beyond the immediate team and address large-scale open-ended problems.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to define strategic project plans, including methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
  3. Promote innovation and leadership in the development of scalable systems, leveraging expertise in cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure), event-driven architecture, and messaging frameworks (Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  4. Provide technical guidance and oversight in building technical plans and backlogs, ensuring effective execution from design to production delivery.
  5. Drive cross-functional teams through effective communication and presentation skills, influencing key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  6. Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices across the organization.
  7. Actively contribute to the development of data pipelines, monitoring/alerting, and observability tools, staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  8. Serve as a subject matter expert in database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, Redshift), performance optimization, and replication.
  9. Cultivate strong relationships with internal teams, including Support and Operations, to ensure seamless collaboration and issue resolution.
  10. Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to software development best practices, security standards, and engineering guidelines.
Requirements
  1. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, supplemented by ten or more years of relevant experience.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in developing complex data platforms, distributed systems, SaaS, cloud solutions, and microservices.
  3. A proven track record of delivering business-critical systems, with experience designing/developing scalable systems, data warehouses, and big data platforms.
  4. Familiarity with mature engineering practices (CI/CD, testing, secure coding) and software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, LEAN).
  5. An ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams, representing engineering interests and advocating for technical excellence.
  6. A passion for innovation, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. A Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. Experience with FinTech solutions, real-time payment networks, and associated technologies.
  3. Knowledge of cloud-based observability tools, such as Amazon CloudWatch or Google Cloud Monitoring.
Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $250,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits, opportunities for growth and professional development, and a dynamic work environment.
