Blue Origin is seeking a highly skilled Thermal Systems Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Lunar Permanence business unit, you will be responsible for leading the development and management of thermal control systems for our spacecraft.
Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and mentor a diverse team of Thermal Systems Engineers.
- Project Management: Manage the development and management of thermal interfaces, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and models.
- Requirements Management: Own the verification and validation of thermal requirements, in collaboration with the Thermal test engineers.
- Standardization: Standardize Thermal Systems Engineering approaches across Lunar missions.
- Communication: Communicate progress to leadership team via program management reviews, finance reviews, and project deep dives.
- Education: Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or similar.
- Experience: Experience in the generation of requirements, decomposition, and analysis.
- Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Education: M.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
- Experience: 2+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for leading and mentoring employees.
- Skills: 8+ years of experience in thermal analysis for spacecraft systems, experience solving a variety of spacecraft engineering challenges, familiar with agile project management, experience in design and analysis of safety-critical systems, experience in safety-critical aerospace vehicle certification processes, experience with space vehicle design, verification, integration, and test, experience with critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk management, requirements management, and Cost Account Management such as EVM.

Paid Time Off: Up to four (4) weeks per year based on weekly scheduled hours, and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
Discretionary bonus: Bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
