The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in primary care principles and practices, with the ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress. Key responsibilities include performing medical examinations, maintaining patient care charts, and educating patients on proper care and treatment. The successful candidate will also possess intermediate knowledge of computer software and be able to make administrative and procedural decisions. **Key Responsibilities:**

* Provide direct patient care to out-patient and in-patient populations
* Perform medical examinations and maintain patient care charts
* Educate patients on proper care and treatment
* Make administrative and procedural decisions
* Maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards

**Requirements:**

* Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
* Current Certification
* Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the practicing state
* Intermediate knowledge of computer software

**Skills and Knowledge:**

* Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
* Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
* Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
* Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions
* Ability to educate patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care and treatment
* Knowledge of primary care principles and practices
* Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
* Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures
* Knowledge of current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches in area of expertise
* Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures
* Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
* Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration
* Ability to clearly communicate medical information to professional practitioners and/or the general public
