Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Transportation Professional to join our team at United Community Action Partnership, Inc. As a Public Service Driver, you will be responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation services to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pick up and deliver passengers safely and efficiently, adhering to daily schedules and dispatch ride assignments.
  • Make sound and immediate decisions based on traffic and road conditions, as well as bus operations.
  • Select booked trips according to times and locations, ensuring optimal route efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to set up routes and schedule special events, promoting a positive and professional work environment.
  • Operate the bus in a safe manner, adhering to driver policies and procedures, as well as MnDOT, Agency, and Program guidelines.
  • Complete pre- and post-trip bus inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, treating and assisting passengers in a positive and professional manner.
  • Support and model United's Behavioral Competencies, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
Requirements
  • Class C or higher commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
  • One (1) year of previous related experience.
  • Knowledge of road use, laws, and regulations.
  • Ability to relate in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to use two-way radio and tablets to maintain communication.
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain passenger bus and wheelchair lift in all conditions.
  • Ability to read maps.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Reliable, regular attendance.
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical and alcohol/drug testing requirements.
  • Must have satisfactory completion of background check.
