Research Opportunities

We are seeking a creative quantum scientist to contribute to research that tackles the problems of designing, controlling, and scaling semiconducting qubit systems. As a member of our team, you will propose and lead independent research projects focused on novel semiconducting quantum devices, controls, or characterization techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with other APL staff to identify emerging challenges with quantum solutions.
  • Support ongoing programs in quantum information science by making immediate contributions to efforts that are looking to implement quantum characterization, control, and error protection strategies in semiconducting spin qubit systems.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 1+ years of post-doctoral (or equivalent) experimental experience with quantum systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven record of research accomplishments and publications in the field of quantum science.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a TS/SCI+poly level clearance.
