Piedmont Rockdale Hospital's Nurse Residency Program is a 12-month comprehensive transition-to-practice program designed to facilitate the growth and development of new graduate nurses. Our program is built on the principles of education, mentorship, and peer support, providing a supportive environment for nurses to transition from student to professional.
Program Objectives- Develop the clinical judgment needed to rapidly recognize a change in patients' condition and the urgency of a clinical situation

Responsibilities of the Staff Nurse- Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients
- Function within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrate professional growth and accountability
- Maintain standards of practice, coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care
- Graduate of a nursing program
- New graduates of a nursing program eligible
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse
- BLS certification required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
