Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer SME to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. As a key member of our Agile team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced data analytics solutions for a federal law enforcement agency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain large relational databases, integrating new systems with existing warehouse structures and refining system performance and functionality.
  • Design strategies for enterprise database systems, setting standards for operations, programming, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver complex data analytics projects, utilizing advanced graphics, visualization, and high-performance computing.
  • Establish and maintain application systems that produce actionable intelligence from structured and semi-structured data streams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 12-15 years of prior relevant experience or master's with 10-13 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to work well within a small Agile team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and US Citizenship.
  • DOD Top Secret Clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in maintaining the Apache Hadoop Ecosystem, especially utilizing HBase, MapReduce, and Spark.
  • Experience with ETL processes utilizing Linux shell scripting, Perl, Python, and Apache Airflow.
  • Experience with AWS services such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELB, EMR, KMS, SQS, SNS, and Systems Manager.
  • Experience in supporting, maintaining, and migrating JavaFX applications to modern cloud-native solutions.
