Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Thomson Reuters. As a key member of our technology group, you will contribute to the design and delivery of critical public-facing and internal applications.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with others to accomplish tasks efficiently and effectively, learn and apply new business and technical concepts quickly, and provide technical leadership to the team. You will participate in all aspects of the agile process, design, develop, test, and deliver application features that delight customers.
You will also contribute non-functional requirements to projects to achieve long-term application health and stability, understand and apply current secure development practices, and maintain an understanding of industry trends to bring new innovative ideas to the group.
Additionally, you will support production applications as needed to prevent service interruptions and maintain a high level of quality for our customers, communicate effectively in written and verbal form with colleagues and vendor representatives, and mentor junior engineers to sustain a high level of development standards.
About YouYou are a fit for this position if your background includes a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, computer science, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years in a technical development role. You should have experience developing enterprise Java applications using Spring, designing, delivering, and maintaining ReSTful services, and working with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
You should also have experience managing efficient database connections and transactions in Java, writing and executing complex SQL, and proven design skills with significant knowledge of core libraries and common design patterns. You should be able to work independently with minimal direction to meet commitments and have a strong focus on system performance, scalability, and troubleshooting in large and complex software systems.
