The role involves providing essential support in daily living activities and personal care for clients in their residences, following a predetermined care plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, offering assistance during mealtime as needed.
  • Support clients with personal hygiene tasks such as grooming, bathing, and dressing.
  • Facilitate mobility by helping clients get in and out of bed or chairs, and assist with walking.
  • Encourage physical activity through ambulation and exercise.
  • Provide assistance with financial management tasks, including bill payments.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support during the absence of family caregivers.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of clients, seeking emergency help when necessary.
  • Adhere to the established care plan and promptly report any changes in the client's condition to the supervising nurse.
  • Participate in scheduled training and in-service meetings to enhance skills.
  • Document client information accurately and submit reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary.
  • Reliable transportation and proof of state-required vehicle insurance are mandatory.
  • Current negative TB skin test or state health card is required.
  • Completion of a 75-hour Home Health Aide training program is essential.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid is required.
