Quality Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Technician to join our team at Marmon Holdings, Inc. As a Quality Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct internal quality controls to ensure established quality procedures and norms are followed.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Select products for tests at specified stages in production process, and test products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, coating, or aesthetic characteristics.
  • Record test data, applying statistical quality control procedures as required.
  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Audit supplier quality to specifications and quality plan and maintain records.
  • Audit outbound, inbound, and interdepartmental shipments for conformance to standard, specifications, and quality plan, isolate defective material, recommend corrective action, and material disposition.
  • Maintain gage and tooling control, accuracy, and calibration within calibration policy and procedures.
  • Audit process areas for quality of workmanship, specification conformance, and adherence to the quality plan.
  • Assist QA supervisor, QA engineer, QA analyst, and production departments as required to ensure continuity of efficient operations, ISO 9000 registration, and continuous quality improvement.
Requirements:
  • Certificate from a technical school preferred.
  • ASQC certification or 6 months to one-year related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, decimals, and fractions.
  • Ability to follow directions communicated verbally and in writing.
  • Must demonstrate ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
