Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care RN to join our team at WVU Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
About the Role:
This position requires a registered professional nurse with current licensure and certification in Basic Life Support. The ideal candidate will have one year of nursing experience, with a strong foundation in critical care and a passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
The CAPE program offers a career advancement opportunity for nurses to develop their skills and advance their careers within WVU Medicine. Nurses who meet the requirements for each level can progress through the levels, demonstrating their commitment to quality patient care and continuous learning.
Responsibilities:
This role involves providing professional nursing care for patients in an inpatient hospital setting, working collaboratively with interprofessional teams to achieve quality patient outcomes. Key responsibilities include modifying patient plans based on data collection, using Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) to inform patient care, delegating tasks according to scope of practice, and verifying plans of care with interprofessional colleagues and patients.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for promoting effective communication among team members, influencing policy to promote safe patient care, utilizing appropriate resources to provide care, and participating in continuing professional development. They will also engage in activities related to nurse-sensitive indicators to enhance quality of care and identify ways to maintain and improve an ethical work environment conducive to safe, quality healthcare.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a diploma, ADN, BSN, or higher degree, with one year of nursing experience. They must also have current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses or equivalent state board, as well as obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date. Additionally, they must meet the requirements for the CAPE program and be available to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
