Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing echocardiography procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assess cardiac function and structure.
  • Record and report patient test results accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor patient comfort and safety during procedures, alerting physicians to any abnormalities or changes in patient responses.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and ensure all equipment is in proper working condition, reporting any deficiencies or failures.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately to obtain high-quality images.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards and maintain a clean and orderly department.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Completion of a Sonography program.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Rare kneeling and sitting.
