Job Opportunity

Toolkit Tutors, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and passionate Bilingual Algebra I Tutor to provide in-person tutoring services to NYC high schools. The ideal candidate will work with high school students to prepare them for the Algebra I Regents exam, providing instruction in English while communicating effectively in Spanish with students and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small-group tutoring sessions in algebra to students in grades 9-12.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of bilingual learners.
  • Communicate effectively in Spanish with students and their families to ensure understanding and engagement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to support student learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Previous experience in tutoring or teaching high school math.
  • Familiarity with the Algebra I New York State Regents exam.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with high school students and adapt to their individual learning needs.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive educational environment.
