Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our team at Southside Medical Center. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for our patients.

Job Summary

The Operating Room Registered Nurse position is a critical role that requires strong organizational and leadership skills. You will be responsible for assessing patient status, determining the priority of patient problems and needs, and implementing clinical nursing interventions to acute and critical patients. Your expertise will be essential in developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment to identify patient needs and priorities
  • Develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve patient outcomes
  • Provide pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including assessment and discharge instructions
  • Manage the nursing care of patients within the OR and coordinate the needs of the surgical team with other care providers
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Associates degree or Bachelors degree in Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred, not required)
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association (preferred, not required)
  • CNOR Certified Perioperative Nurse (preferred, not required)
  • SGNA Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (preferred, not required)
