About the Role

This Senior Surgical Scheduling Specialist position at Mount Sinai Hospital requires a highly skilled professional who can oversee a team of surgical schedulers and ensure efficient delivery of services. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership:** Oversees a team of surgical schedulers and provides guidance and support to ensure successful operation of the department.
  2. Scheduling:** Responsible for scheduling surgical procedures, including coordination with patients, surgeons, and anesthesiologists.
  3. Communication:** Acts as liaison between referring physicians and surgeons, communicating clinical data and determining O.Trains.
  4. Mentorship:** Trains and mentors other surgical scheduling coordinators or less senior staff within the unit.
  5. Data Management:** Records hospital reservation and pre-admit data in the CERNER system and inputs surgical information in EPIC.

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
