Job Title: School Nurse

Join Pearland ISD as a dedicated School Nurse, responsible for providing comprehensive health services to students. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting student health, well-being, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive health program for the school, ensuring students receive quality health services.
  • Provide direct health services to students, including first aid, wound care, and medication administration.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote health education and preventive health practices.
  • Advocate for students' health needs and work with the school community to create a supportive environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with district and state regulations.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program, with a valid registered nurse license to practice in Texas.
  • Two years of experience in community health and/or pediatrics, with basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and Skyward.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, interpret policies, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:

The School Nurse will work in a dynamic school environment, with frequent interruptions and the need to maintain emotional control under stress. The position requires occasional heavy lifting, biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases, and the ability to work with students of varying ages and abilities.
