Job Title:

Pre-Operative/PACU Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pre-Operative/PACU Registered Nurse to join our team at Surgery Partners. As a key member of our ambulatory surgical center, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, develop, and implement total nursing care for pre-operative patients
  • Record and report symptoms, reactions, abnormalities, and changes in patient physical and mental conditions
  • Administer medications and treatments ordered by physicians
  • Care and discharge pre-operative patients according to facility policies
  • Review patient charts for accuracy and completeness
  • Assemble and label personal belongings bags and assist patients with O.R. dress attire
  • Administer pre-operative sedation and document medication administration
  • Function independently in emergency situations and display proficiency in nursing skills
  • Maintain patient and employee confidentiality and provide psychological support to patients and families
  • Maintain rapport with physicians and medical departments providing services for pre-operative workup
  • Maintain competence through continuing education and meet requirements for CEU re-licensure
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse License
  • Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Knowledge of healthcare products, stock rotation procedures, storage systems, inventory supplements, preference card management, and credit
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to healthcare products
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures
  • Ability to handle a large volume of detailed work accurately
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical functions and data entry procedures
  • Ability to perform equipment and supply tracking
