Key Responsibilities

  • Develop construction plans for roadways, interchanges, and drainage systems in accordance with State DOT and local agency standards.
  • Utilize standards and analytical methods outlined in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Highway Capacity Manual, and AASHTO guidelines.
  • Conduct engineering calculations to support the detailed plans and construction documents.
  • Perform drainage analyses and create drainage plans that comply with State DOT requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with Project Managers regarding the technical and financial aspects of projects, including contract modifications and client invoicing.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately, adhering to quality control and assurance protocols.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Louisiana Professional Engineer (PE) license is required or the ability to obtain one.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in conceptual, preliminary, and final design, along with familiarity with Louisiana DOTD standards.
  • Experience in preparing plans and contract documents is essential.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation V8i, Bentley InRoads, and Civil 3D software is required.
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
