Position Summary:

The Sanitation Specialist is tasked with ensuring the effective sanitation and operational standards within the facility. This role requires self-motivation, individual leadership, and clear communication of sanitation objectives and responsibilities to team members. The specialist will also be responsible for training staff on the proper use and handling of all sanitation chemicals, tools, and equipment relevant to departmental sanitation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Possess a thorough understanding of all cleaning supplies, their appropriate cleaning frequencies, and the correct application of chemicals.
  2. Implement safe chemical handling practices and maintain compliance with M.S.D.S. information.
  3. Lead and mentor new employees in all aspects of sanitation and safety protocols.
  4. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new equipment and prepare documentation for third-party audits.

Qualifications:

Flexibility in work hours is essential, as the schedule may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Duties may require standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle or feel objects, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee may need to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision. Employees may be required to remain at a workstation for extended periods.
