Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate ER Nurse to join our team at Saint Francis Hospital - Hartford - TT. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Care Planning: Collect current symptoms, detailed patient history, and consult with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Triage and Stabilization: Perform triage, considering both physical and psychosocial elements, and manage basic life support needs to stabilize patients until the attending physician is available.
  • Medication Administration: Prepare and administer prescribed medications, record vital signs, and report adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
  • IV Therapy and Wound Care: Provide IV therapy, clean and bandage wounds, and maintain proper supplies and equipment to care for patients.
  • Patient Education: Initiate patient education plans, as prescribed by physicians, and teach patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury.
  • Professionalism and Communication: Display professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner and record all care information concisely, accurately, and completely.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current licensure in good standing, and a minimum of one year of recent hospital experience in the ER.
  • Certifications: Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, with TNCC and NIHSS preferred.
