Mental Health Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Technician (MHT) to join our dynamic team at Chicago Behavioral Hospital. As a key member of our treatment team, you will provide continuous care, supervision, and positive role modeling to patients across various age groups.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately record vital signs and exercise judgment in patient interactions, reporting changes to the Registered Nurse.
- Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team and provide information for development and revision.
- Employ crisis-intervention techniques, conduct MHT-led groups, and use facility-approved CPI techniques.
- Assist patients through discharge, guide in adjusting to life changes, and help with personal hygiene.
- Comply with policies for a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment, practicing universal precautions and responding to patient care priorities.
- High School Degree or equivalent preferred; or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred; Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or appropriate therapeutic discipline preferred.
- One year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred.
- Successful completion of CPR certification and Management of Aggressive Behavior training within 90 days of employment prior to assisting with restraining procedures.
