About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Amergis. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians with medical imaging procedures, utilizing high-frequency ultrasound waves to detect abnormalities and produce images of the inside of a patient's body.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of complex specialized tasks utilizing ultrasonic high-frequency sound waves to detect abnormalities, including masses, abscesses, and stones.
  • Assist physicians with biopsy procedures, guiding biopsy instruments using sonographic techniques.
  • Utilize accessory equipment such as transducers, multi-format cameras, printers, and PACS workstations.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and explain procedures to patients.
  • Report changes in patient condition to medical staff.
  • Provide an oral and written summary of preliminary findings to the radiologist.
  • Evaluate the quality of sonograms and determine if additional sonograms or ultrasound procedures are indicated.
  • Maintain patient records following facility policy and procedure.
  • Perform ultrasound procedures, doppler vascular examinations, abdominal studies, and colorflow ultrasound, OB-GYN procedures as required.
  • Collaborate in quality control of equipment and filming and obtain service as required.
  • Proficient in the performance of ultrasound procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/necessary.
Requirements
  • A certification from an accredited ultrasound school.
  • One year of experience as an ultrasound technician preferred.
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
