Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist II is a critical care professional responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in complex, multiple problem-patient care situations. This role requires a strong foundation in respiratory care, with a focus on medication administration, ventilator management, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, and oxygen medical gas therapy
  • Perform ventilator management, weaning, and waveform graphic interpretation
  • Assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures, including intubation, extubation, and tracheal tube change and care
  • Educate patients and mentor/precept new employees, students, and peers
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with a minimum of 20 quarter hours of science
  • Associate's degree (A.S.) required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience with a minimum of 6 months in critical care
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals
