Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach geospatial science, geography, geoinformatics, and environmental studies/science courses as assigned. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching and research in these areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in geospatial science, geography, geoinformatics, and environmental studies/science
  • Develop and implement course materials and assessments
  • Provide academic advising and support to students
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities
Requirements
  • Master's degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught
  • Teaching experience desirable
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Knowledge of regional, physical, and cultural geography
  • Ability to assess classes and provide feedback to students
Preferred Qualifications
  • Adjunct faculty must hold an advanced degree or equivalent credentials based on experience consistent with accreditation criteria of the discipline and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
