D.R. Horton, Inc., a leading homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking an Escrow Assistant to join their Financial Services team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely preparation of escrow files and ordering necessary information for closing transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and send opening letters and acknowledgments to all parties involved.
- Order title commitments and distribute them to all parties.
- Update payoff/assumption statements as requested.
- Prepare receipts for all funds received from customers and/or lenders.
- Order wire transfers and provide wiring instructions.
- Clear title requirements.
- Prepare loan packages for return to lenders.
- Assist the branch manager with administrative tasks as needed.
- Open refinance orders.
- Coordinate closings, including receiving builder reports, ordering surveys, contacting lenders, and obtaining hazard insurance.
- Prepare copies for disbursement and closing transmittals.
- Assist the Closer/Escrow Officer with final policy disbursement, as directed.
- Monitor termite inspection requests and other required inspection information.
- Provide customer service, answering questions and handling telephone calls regarding the administrative process of transactions.
- Cancel files according to office procedure.
- Assist with pre-closing files, ensuring accuracy and matching information with the original Purchase Contract.
- Prepare and ship closing packages, ensuring completeness and proper signatures.
- Prepare documents for recording in different counties, adhering to recording regulations and lenders' requirements.
- Prepare loan and owners' policies and mail them out.
- Prepare endorsements to policies, when applicable.
- Responsible for the whereabouts of closing files.
- Assist the Branch Manager with administrative tasks.
- Manage the fee account checkbook and maintain control of the mailing stamps machine.
- Provide customer service, handling telephone calls from lenders, buyers, attorneys, realtors, insurance companies, and others.
An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
