Job Summary

Mercy Health System is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a clinical setting. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, and holistic nursing care to patients, supporting the Mercy Health System nursing mission, practice values, and strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, and procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act.
  • Document patient information according to standards of care.
  • Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by physician and/or clinic policy, including patient and family instruction.
  • Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.
  • Utilize clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
  • Utilize critical thinking in regards to patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalate to the appropriate chain of command.
  • Participate in unit/department nursing practice activities and decisions and peer review process.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • BSN or upon hire BSN completion agreement for enrollment in an accredited BSN Completion Program.
  • Licensed as an RN in state of practice.
  • Approved CPR certification required within 90 days (Other certification per unit requirements: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP).
  • 10 hours of continued education.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
