Position Overview

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for the care and assessment of patients during their diagnostic imaging procedures. This role involves examining various body parts to assist in the identification of medical conditions, catering to patients from infancy through to elderly individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with physicians or radiologists during specialized imaging procedures.
  • Educates patients, families, and nursing staff regarding diagnostic imaging processes.
  • Applies critical thinking skills in both routine and urgent assessments to ensure proper imaging protocols are followed.
  • Conducts examinations of any body part to aid in medical diagnosis.
  • Exhibits compassion, empathy, and respect towards patients and colleagues.
  • Adheres to safety protocols when interacting with patients to ensure the production of high-quality radiographs for effective treatment.
  • Evaluates each patient for appropriate exam preparation and the suitability of ordered exams.
  • Follows established protocols set forth by the Radiology Department.

Essential Qualifications

  • Current certification as an American Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).
  • Valid permit to practice from the Iowa Department of Public Health.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required within three months of employment.
  • Must demonstrate a personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and a caring attitude, with the ability to inspire and motivate others in alignment with the mission and values of Trinity Health.
