Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Adventist Health Clear Lake. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services to patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate speech therapy for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Set patient care priorities and assign patient care activities to appropriate personnel based on job description skills and capabilities, scope of practice, and level of competency.
  • Participate in clinical education by supervising student interns, clinical affiliates, and Clinical Fellowships (CFYs) as needed.
  • Provide personnel and broader community with education opportunities.
  • Immediately notify charge nurses, managers, and house supervisors of significant problems or unusual incidents, such as physician/patient occurrence and crises requiring administrative intervention.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or related field.
  • Two years' experience in speech language pathology, preferably in an outpatient setting.
  • Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
