Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician I to join our team at American States Utility Services. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our water and wastewater systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on water and wastewater equipment, including pumps, motors, and generators.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, such as inspecting and testing equipment, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with water and wastewater systems, and implement effective solutions.
  • Work with superintendents and other maintenance technicians to prepare and maintain operational memos and daily logs.
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance tasks, including painting, vegetation control, and yard maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of work performed, and communicate effectively with team members and management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a CDL with tanker endorsement.
  • Formal electrical schooling or training preferred.
  • Ability to obtain State required certifications, including Maintenance Technician Level I and water and/or wastewater certification.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, extreme weather conditions, and areas exposed to noise and chemicals.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 lbs. and push or pull up to 75 lbs.
