Are you an exceptional educator with a passion for teaching and mentoring? We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Pathologist to join our team at The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine.

As an Academic Pathologist, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of medical professionals by delivering high-quality education and mentorship. Your expertise in pathology will be invaluable in helping our students develop a deep understanding of human disease and the latest diagnostic techniques.

This is a full-time, academic non-tenure core faculty position that offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the field of medicine. You will have the chance to work closely with other experienced educators and researchers to develop innovative curricula and educational programs.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Teach and mentor medical students in basic science courses, including pathology, histology, pathophysiology, physiology, and cell biology.
  • Develop and implement instructional materials, assessments, and evaluations to ensure student success.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to design and deliver case-based learning sessions and small group discussions.
  • Mentor students in their clerkship year and provide guidance on personal statements and residency applications.
  • Participate in faculty development sessions and contribute to the growth and improvement of our academic programs.

**Requirements:**

  • A terminal doctoral degree (MD/DO or PhD) in basic science disciplines, such as biomedical sciences, physiology, pathology, molecular and cellular biology, or related fields.
  • At least three years of relevant teaching experience in medical education, preferably in a medical school curriculum.
  • Expertise in the use of technology and active learning instruction.
