Position Overview

The Cath Lab Technologist plays a critical role in the cardiac care team, providing essential support in the catheterization laboratory. This position requires a high level of expertise and experience in managing complex procedures related to cardiac diagnostics and interventions.

Certification Requirements
  • ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • BLS: Basic Life Support
  • PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • EFM: Electronic Fetal Monitoring
  • Tech Cert Verification: National
  • State License Verification: Required
  • NURSYS Verification: RN, LPN/LVN, AP
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required
Job Specifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years; first-time applicants are not considered.
  • Patient Demographics: Adults to Geriatric patients.
  • Clinical Skills: Proficient in diagnostic catheterization, PCI, orbital atherectomy, IABP, Impella, and device implants. Experience with EKG interpretation and vital sign monitoring is essential.
  • Work Environment: Operate in a setting with an average daily census of 8-10 patients across 3 rooms with 5 beds.
  • System Proficiency: Familiarity with Epic (mandatory), Pyxis, SBAR, and Merge (preferred).
  • Uniform: Provided by the facility.
  • Availability: Maximum of 7 days for time off requests.
  • Weekend Commitment: Required every other weekend unless otherwise specified.
  • Floating: Potential to float within the department and to affiliated campuses.
  • On-Call Duties: Expected to be on call for 10 days per month.
  • Holiday Work: Required to work on major holidays as specified in the assignment.
  • Compliance: Full compliance is necessary to commence work on schedule; delays may occur due to orientation schedules.
Essential Qualifications
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and either RCIS, RCES, or ARRT CV.
Schedule Details
  • Shift Information: Includes call requirements, time-off limits, and weekend obligations.
