Job Title: Mechatronics Engineer

UFP Technologies is seeking a skilled Mechatronics Engineer to support production operations for electrical and PLC control problems on various machines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, PLC programming, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deploy solutions to enable efficient selection and application of products.
  • Install, repair, and adjust electrical components, controls, and equipment per applicable codes and standards.
  • Participate in equipment design review meetings and provide product/technical support.
  • Evaluate issues and develop response strategies to correct and improve product features.
  • Recommend and implement methods to increase product quality.
  • Exhibit superior safety practices while performing repairs.
  • Assist in recommending and ordering the latest electrical components for equipment upgrades and new equipment builds.
  • Support troubleshooting and determining root cause for RF and impulse welding operations.
  • Provide technical support to setup, manufacturing, and advance engineering teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Physics.
  • Five to seven years of experience in design or applications engineering.
  • Medical device environment experience desired.
  • Experience in ladder logic software – Allen Bradley, Automation Direct, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution, electronic components, AC/DC circuitry, and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
