Primary Responsibilities

This role entails overseeing (with a team as necessary) all activities related to the execution of multiple large-scale and intricate capital investment projects from inception to completion, which are crucial to the Company's objectives concerning Production, Networks, and/or other water resource or operational systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing and managing budgets and timelines for several medium to small Capital Investment Projects and programs of moderate scope and complexity.
  • Enhancing project delivery efficiency through the monitoring of delivery metrics (unit costs, target costs vs. actual, etc.) and exploring more effective delivery and procurement strategies.
  • Ensuring the delivery of assigned Capital Projects in accordance with policies and procedures outlined in the Capital Investment Management (CIM) system to meet asset requirements.
  • Ensuring Asset Owner satisfaction in alignment with the agreed-upon scope of work for each project. Collaborating with Operations personnel to guarantee that the project delivery program meets operational needs and is coordinated with operational impacts.
  • Collaborating with the Technical Services function regarding standards and requirements. Ensuring compliance with established regulatory criteria, specifications, and standards.
  • Coordinating with property groups, technical services, and other internal teams and external governmental agencies to manage land acquisition, easements, rights of way, permits, certificates, and other project approvals for assigned projects and programs.

  • Familiarity with regulatory developments, new technologies, and current trends in water quality, treatment, developer services, and related water resource management disciplines.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Awareness of employee relations, applicable safety and environmental regulations, federal and state water quality and design regulations, and technical standards.
Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 13 years of experience in delivering major water resources projects.
  • Consideration will be given for advanced degrees and/or relevant certifications in lieu of minimum years of experience.
Travel Requirements
  • Periodic travel with overnight stays may be required; up to 20%.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Engineer-in-training (EIT) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications are strongly preferred.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
Work Environment
  • Primarily office-based with occasional local/overnight fieldwork.
