Job Description

About the Role

The Office of Undergraduate Admission at the University of Virginia invites applications for the position of Admission Counselor. This role is a critical member of the University's Enrollment team, working under the supervision of an Associate or Assistant Dean.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit and evaluate undergraduate students for admission to the University
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies, including presentations and outreach events
  • Provide feedback and advice to prospective students and families on the application process
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including alumni, faculty, and student organizations
  • Evaluate applications and make recommendations for admission

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least three years of experience in student services or higher education
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in student services, admissions, or higher education
