The Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting product, raw materials, etc. from location to location within the manufacturing facility. The individual will read orders, gather ordered materials/manually or with forklift, sort for proper stacking, apply place cards, stage for loading, and ensure all product is transported in a safe manner.

Responsibilities:

  1. ">
  2. Conduct pre-shift inspection of the forklift to ensure safety and operational compliance">
  3. Fuel forklifts as required and perform safety checks on the lift">
  4. Provide safe operation of forklift throughout the facility. Abide by all safety rules and regulations required with forklift operation">
  5. Places pallets of finished door stacks on wrapper with forklift">
  6. Pull all production wraps lines as required out of designated areas">
  7. Required to mount and dismount forklift multiple times per day">
  8. Separate all disposable material into the designated areas">
  9. Must be able to work extended hours and overtime as needed both daily and on weekends if business need requires">
  10. Position will require appropriate certification to operate equipment">
  11. Operate forklift to load and/or move materials">
  12. Supply production areas with needed materials from inventory">
  13. Load/unload, lift, move, place, stack raw materials and doors">
  14. Navigates throughout plant, including populated and small areas">
  15. Supports the manufacturing process through inspection and aid to machine operators">
  16. Inspect doors and make minor repairs">
  17. Maintain a safe and clean work environment">

Requirements:

  • Preferably one year experience in manufacturing setting">
  • HS Diploma or GED preferred">
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen">
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred not required">
  • Prior forklift operation in manufacturing environment">
  • 1-2 years of forklift experience with previous forklift certification, required">
