Systems Engineering Specialist

Position Overview:
You will take on the role of the Division System Engineer, ensuring the technical excellence of the division's engineering outputs and the methodologies employed in their creation and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and present technical documentation and spearhead investigations to rectify identified shortcomings.
- Guide station personnel in crafting effective and innovative processes for issue resolution and execution at the Division level, particularly concerning the development, integration, certification, and operational engineering of the Aegis Combat System.
- Adapt work processes to accommodate urgent or shifting program or production demands.
- Assess organizational and operational challenges and devise timely and cost-effective solutions.
Collaboration:
- Work in close partnership with System Engineers, Supportability Integrators, Test and Evaluation Leads, and cross-department management to address all facets of systems safety, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
- Mentor division engineering staff, contributing to individual development plans and performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and deemed suitable for federal employment.
- Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory.
- New hires to the Department of the Navy must successfully complete the E-Verify employment verification process.
Security Clearance:
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to starting the role. Failure to secure the necessary clearance may lead to the withdrawal of a job offer or termination.
Experience Requirements:
Your resume should reflect at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 pay band (GS-12/13 equivalency) in the Federal service or comparable experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate proficiency as a professional Engineer overseeing consultative services in the design, development, or support of digital systems, networks, and computer programs related to shipboard Combat Systems.
Educational Background:
Applicants must fulfill the basic educational requirements set by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual, which includes successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
