Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team at John O'Neil Johnson Motor Company. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for examining and diagnosing vehicles, discussing repairs with shop foremen or service advisors, and communicating additional service requests to service advisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine and diagnose vehicles to identify areas of repair
  • Discuss repairs with shop foremen or service advisors to determine the best course of action
  • Communicate additional service requests to service advisors to ensure seamless customer service
  • Plan work procedures in cooperation with shop foremen to ensure efficient and effective repairs
  • Provide labor time estimates to service advisors to ensure accurate billing
  • Monitor repair time and update service advisors regularly to ensure timely completion of repairs
  • Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs to ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Assist in mentoring technician trainees to ensure the development of skilled technicians
  • Attend company and factory training to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and techniques
  • Keep current with factory technical bulletins to ensure compliance with manufacturer standards
  • Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Operator Driver License and State Inspection License required.
