Automotive Painter Job Description

Morgan Truck Body LLC is a leading manufacturer of truck bodies in North America, celebrating 70 years of excellence. As an Automotive Painter with our company, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality products that meet customer specifications.

Salary: $20/hour + $2/hour for 2nd shift, depending on experience

The Automotive Painter is responsible for painting and preparing trucks to customer specifications at a high level of skill and quality. This position requires the ability to paint full bodies, any style chassis and cab, trailer, and tractor, as well as operate various tools such as cup guns, pressure pots, plural systems, and airless sprayers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to ensure accurate completion of tasks
  • Set up and perform preventative maintenance on tools and machines as necessary
  • Perform safety and quality checks to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards
  • Handle hazardous waste in accordance with legislated and company policies

Requirements:

  • Basic math, tape measurement, and computer skills
  • Basic experience with paint tools
  • Able to understand and comprehend measurement
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints for special applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing
  • Previous experience working on truck bodies

This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment, requiring regular standing, walking, and use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects. The team member may sit, bend, stoop, squat, reach overhead, or crawl (may be in confined spaces). The team member is expected to perform repetitive tasks using their hands and have the ability to climb ladders and/or work in high places.
