Position Overview: Lead Linux Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Linux Infrastructure Engineer to join our Container Services team. In this role, you will contribute to a top-tier platform that supports developers in expanding Adyen's operations. Our infrastructure is a distributed system that demands high performance and stringent security measures. Your key responsibilities will include the development and maintenance of container-native infrastructure solutions, utilizing technologies such as Nomad and Kubernetes.

Who You Are

You are a Systems Engineer with a passion for containerization and a robust background in Linux. Your experience encompasses complex distributed systems, and you are adept at managing on-premise infrastructure across multiple data centers worldwide. You believe in automation as a fundamental principle and possess a strong desire to learn and grow. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential to your work style.

Technical Expertise and Experience

We are looking for candidates with experience in some of the following areas, and a willingness to learn others:

  • Management of on-premise infrastructure
  • Familiarity with the Kubernetes ecosystem
  • Experience with the Hashicorp suite (Consul, Nomad, Terraform, Vault)
  • Understanding of GitOps methodologies
  • Proficiency in Linux, HAProxy, Tomcat, network security protocols, databases, and UNIX-related network services
  • Competence in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python)
  • Knowledge of system configuration, administration, load balancing, scaling, monitoring, and the Linux containers ecosystem, including an understanding of Linux kernel features (namespaces, capabilities, cgroups, seccomp, etc.), core operating systems, network setup and maintenance, and distributed file systems.
