Assembly Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Wausau Window and Wall Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to specifications and established manufacturing procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units.
Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards.
May repair or refit parts or units that fail tests or tolerance levels.
Maintain daily assembly production records.
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred;
3-5 years related experience and/or training;
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;
Communicate effectively in a verbal and written manner;
Basic computer proficiency and accuracy for time/labor entry;
Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
Ability to adapt to situations and effectively problem solve;
Work quickly and accurately.
Work Environment:
The associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts;
The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration;
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring hearing protection;
Must be willing and able to comply with all plant safety regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE when on the production floor.
Travel Requirements:
Infrequent travel required.
