Overview:

The Speech Language Pathologist is accountable for assessing, designing, and executing treatment strategies for individuals with communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to both Administrative and Departmental guidelines, demonstrating appropriate conduct, attire, demeanor, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and dependability.
  • Conducts comprehensive diagnostic assessments and develops treatment plans for clients, ensuring timely completion of necessary documentation including case histories, evaluation reports, initial treatment plans, daily progress notes, and quarterly updates.
  • Engages clients and their families in the therapeutic process, facilitating collaborative goal setting and intervention strategies.
  • Executes professional responsibilities related to patient care, aiming to enhance the patient’s independence and functional capabilities.
  • Participates in established communication protocols within and between departments to meet organizational and departmental objectives.
  • Ensures efficient service delivery through effective scheduling practices.
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.
  • Engages in peer reviews of medical charts, case records, and utilization assessments as required by management.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Skills:

  • A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology is mandatory.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience:

  • Entry-level candidates or those with any relevant experience in speech therapy are welcome.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Application for the clinical fellowship year is required. Upon starting the clinical fellowship, candidates must apply for a temporary license with the appropriate state boards.
  • Upon completion of the clinical fellowship, candidates should obtain full licensure from the American Speech and Hearing Association, along with the necessary state certifications.
