Senior Director of Development, SEAS

Harvard University is seeking a seasoned fundraising professional to serve as the Senior Director of Development for the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). This is a key leadership role that will play a critical part in advancing the school's fundraising priorities and supporting the SEAS dean's vision for the school.
The Senior Director of Development will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to advance fundraising priorities for SEAS, working in partnership with major and principal gifts colleagues and other staff across FAS and University Development. This includes engaging key stakeholders within Harvard and the alumni, donor, and volunteer community in developing and executing fundraising strategies to support SEAS.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in fundraising, with a strong understanding of the principles of philanthropy and the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, alumni, and other stakeholders. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute strategic plans to advance fundraising priorities for SEAS
- Engage key stakeholders within Harvard and the alumni, donor, and volunteer community in developing and executing fundraising strategies to support SEAS
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, alumni, and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with major and principal gifts colleagues and other staff across FAS and University Development to advance fundraising priorities for SEAS
- Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to support SEAS priorities
- Provide leadership and guidance to fundraising staff and volunteers
- Proven track record of success in fundraising
- Strong understanding of the principles of philanthropy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a higher education or non-profit setting
