Surgical Services Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Services Coordinator to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure the smooth operation of our surgical services.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain high-quality intra-operative nursing care standards in accordance with hospital, community, national standards, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Monitor, revise, and adapt current specialty nursing practice in light of changing concepts, methods, techniques, and written standards of care.
- Direct and coordinate nursing care activities of surgical specialty services, supervising staff and ensuring timely completion of scheduled cases.
- Facilitate specialty service materials needs through systematic maintenance of materials resources, ensuring timely availability of instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Support and execute materials management programs developed by the hospital and department, working with CSS to assess and streamline instrument tray contents.
- Maintain efficient resource information of case-procedures performed by assigned surgical specialties, enforcing preference card maintenance guidelines and ensuring proper reporting of defective products or broken equipment.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in assigned specialty services, with progressive leadership experience desirable.
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut, with current BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire.
This role requires prolonged standing, walking, use of sight, hearing, and touch, as well as moving/lifting patients of varying weights.
