Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team at Brookhaven Health Care Facility LLC. As a COTA, you will work under the direction of an occupational therapist to provide treatment procedures that aim to improve a patient's day-to-day functioning despite impairment or limited mobility.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing equipment for treatment and occasional clerical duties
  • Assisting patients with daily living activities and providing support with mobility and transfers
  • Conducting treatment procedures as directed by the occupational therapist
  • Documenting patient progress and maintaining accurate records
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans

Requirements:

  • New York State Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure
  • CPR certification
  • COVID-19 Vaccination
  • Physical strength to lift between 50-100lbs
  • Ability to read and understand work assignments, as well as report verbally and provide written documentation as necessary
  • Respect for patients' privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly
  • Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness
  • Qualities of responsibility, maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with patients and other staff members
