Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist I, PRN to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our rehabilitation department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Direct Patient Care
    • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify patient problems and develop effective treatment plans.
    • Implement a variety of physical therapy techniques and modalities to address patient goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Record and Document Patient Information
    • Accurately document patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress reports in a timely manner.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to departmental documentation standards.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Improvement
    • Contribute to quality assurance activities, suggesting areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care.
    • Participate in in-service training programs to stay current with best practices and advancements in physical therapy.
  • Lead and Direct Therapy Aides and Volunteers
    • Supervise and direct the work of therapy aides and volunteers, ensuring effective and efficient patient care.
    • Provide guidance and support to staff members, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or Doctorate of PT, required.
    • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist with the State of Maryland is required.
    • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and practices, as well as general knowledge of orthopedics, neurology, trauma, pathology, and general medicine.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work with patients and other healthcare personnel effectively.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English, with the ability to follow and give instructions accurately.
