Server Job Description

At Gringo's Mexican Kitchen, we are seeking a skilled Server to join our team. As a Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, taking food and beverage orders, and ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and greet guests, making them feel comfortable and cared for.
  • Take food and beverage orders, entering them into our point-of-sale system.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly, ensuring our guests receive their orders in a timely manner.
  • Prepare the final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change.
  • Perform side work as management requires at the start and end of each shift.
  • Monitor guests' dining experience, ensuring they are satisfied with the food and service.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to requests, communicating guest feedback to managers.
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers.
Requirements:
  • Previous restaurant experience is optional but preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers and other team members.
  • Ability to add and subtract two and three-digit numbers and perform these operations using units of American money.
  • Ability to operate computer point-of-sale system.
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
  • Food Handler Certification is required.
  • TABC Certification is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant standing/walking.
  • Occasional stooping/kneeling.
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps.
  • Constant working in a hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods.
  • Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine.
  • Constant receiving detailed information through oral communication.
  • Constant talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas using the spoken word.
  • Constant clarity of vision at near and/or far distances.
